                                               by Venerable Jian Gong Shifu

Dragon Boat Festival at Sloan’s Lake
Saturday July 24, 10:00AM: Chanting and Eye Dotting
Saturday July 24, 3:00PM – 4:00PM:  Zen Meditation  (Find Zen in 2010)
Sunday July 25, 2:00PM – 3:00PM: Zen Meditation (Find Zen in 2010)

Please join us in the opening ceremony of the Dragon Boat races. This event honors Chinese poet and patriot Qu Yuan who was loved by his people. Overcome with grief upon hearing the news that his country was conquered Qu Yuan flung himself into the river. Local people raced their boats to his aid and threw food into the river to keep the fish from eating Qu Yuan’s body. This historic event was the precursor of today’s Dragon Boat Racing.
Also, please join us in a Zen meditation demonstration in Find Zen in 2010 at Gateway to Asia on Saturday (3 pm) and Sunday (2 pm)! Please visit the Chung Tai Zen Study Group of Denver booth Saturday or Sunday. We are inviting people to spend 30 minutes in meditation and dedicate the merits to world peace.

If you would like to volunteer to greet the public at the Chung Tai Zen Study Group Tent or help carry items or anything else please contact either Craig Parsons (craig_parsons@comcast.net  303-746-0333) or Hong Yan (hongyan6388@yahoo.com 303-668-6388 ).
We hope to see you there!
